Special Projects

Trout in the Classroom

Once again, we will be raising trout from the Pequest Hatchery.  The project would not exist without the support of the Freehold Soil Conservation District and Trout Unlimited.  Through a grant from FSCD, Saint Jerome has been supplied with equipment.  Trout Unlimited has also visited the school in the past with educational programs.  The students will be taking an active role in caring for the development of the fish.  The students will feed the fish, help clean the tank, and perform water quality testing.

September 2022:  Set up tank

October 2022:       Rainbow trout eggs arrive

May 2023:              Release of trout into the Manasquan River

Coding:

Students participate in CoderZ. This year the students will continue to use the program and work their way through missions.  I utilize Code.org to engage students in many different coding activites from Star Wars to creating their own shield design.
